Full Year Calendar, Reminders and So Much More!

Good evening Everyone!

I hope we have all had a wonderful Summer. This email is to remind you to look through your Summer Band Packet and to start getting excited about the upcoming Fall! We are in for a full swing season of which will go down in Ranger Band History. Below are some updates and reminders for Summer Band and More!


2021 Calendar

Attached is the Full Ranger Band 2021-2022 School Year Calendar! All current dates for all events we will be a part of this year are included. Although things do come up and new events sometimes find us, this is the general extent of the full year.


Physicals Reminder

All students must have a physical on file with the Band Staff. Attached is the form that must be completed by a physician. No one can march without it, including Student Leaders at SLT Camp! Be sure to have these taken care of and ready to turn in on your first day of activity with the Band. As mentioned in the Summer Band Packet, there are more days to utilize Bulverde Premier this week! Their info is below. I highly recommend this option. It is free, and takes about 5-10 minutes to complete:

Student Leadership Camp

All student leaders will be joining us Monday-Friday next week! We need ALL SLT, Instructional and Logistical Leaders, to bring their instruments to school each day so we can begin working on Show Music and New Stand Tunes. Be sure to wear comfortable clothes/shoes for marching. This camp will be different from the SLT Camps of the Past!

Volunteers Needed!

Below is a message from our Band Booster Uniform Crew Chairs:

Hello Ranger Band families! By now everyone should have seen the email in regards to Registration Day on August 7. One of the tasks of registration will be measuring and fitting for marching and concert uniforms. With that being said, we are looking for volunteers to help with the many stations involved in making this as smooth as possible. Some of the stations include measuring, ironing, checking uniforms out on the computer, directing students and snapping buttons on pants. If this is something you think you could help with it would be greatly appreciated. We are looking for approximately 15-20 volunteers that are able to help for the day or for a specific time slot. If you are able to help for the day, you would be able to break for the time needed to register your own student. The bulk of the band uniform stuff is done at the beginning during Registration. There will be times that we will need some additional help. If you think you might be interested in the Band Uniform Committee please let us know. Heather French and Kim Devadoss will be heading this up this year and welcome the help. Students with Graphic Design Experience!

Our Boosters are looking for students with Graphic Design Experience to be involved with creating SV Ranger Band Gear for the 2021-22 school year. If you are interested in helping out and being part of the design team, please let me know at michael.childress@comalisd.org.

We're almost there! I can't wait to return to School, Football Games, and Contests with a vengeance this year! Counting down the days!
